Haines City community joins nationwide portfolio

FORT MYERS, Fla. (July 26, 2016) – Murex Properties, a Fort Myers-based company that owns and manages premier manufactured-housing communities throughout the United States, has acquired the 278-home site manufactured-home community Heartland Estates in Haines City, FL for $12,525,000. The 55-plus community was purchased through an exclusive association with Northwestern Mutual.  The property is nestled on a ridge, overlooking Lake Hester in central Florida, approximately one-half mile west of U.S. 27.“Heartland Estates provides its residents an outstanding active-retirement lifestyle, and is a good fit with our corporate culture which counts the satisfaction of our residents as a measure of success,” said Murex Properties President Steve Adler. “It is one of Florida’s premier communities with a well landscaped, low-density setting that allows for large lots.”

Heartland Estates provides an amenity-rich lifestyle with a 5,000-square-foot clubhouse, with a verandah overlooking both the heated swimming pool and the lake.  The clubhouse and amenities include a ballroom, fitness center, kitchen, library, billiards, shuffleboard courts and horseshoes.   

Heartland Estates is the fifth community Murex has purchased in conjunction with Northwestern Mutual. Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance is a AAA-rated company by Fitch and Moody’s with $203.5 billion in investments.

Murex Properties’s Dolce Vita Wins 2016 Commuinity of the Year Award

FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 26, 2016) – Murex Properties, a Fort Myers-based company that owns and manages premier manufactured housing communities throughout the United States, earned 2016 Community of the Year honors for its Dolce Vita manufactured home community east of Phoenix. The Apache Junction, Arizona-community was the Western region winner, one of four national winners recognized by the Manufactured Housing Institute National Industry Awards.

Dolce Vita has 362 households and will have a total of 720 sites. The 55-plus gated community with views of Superstition Mountain has a 33,000-square-foot, Mediterranean-style clubhouse with a ballroom, billiards room, movie theatre, workout facility, computer center and more. FORT MYERS, Fla. (Oct. 23, 2015) – The Manufactured Housing Institute honored Steven P. Adler, president and CEO of Fort Myers-based Murex Properties, with the MHI Chairman’s Award at the 2015 MHI Annual Meeting, held in early October in Boca Raton. MHI Chairman Nathan Smith recognized Adler for his leadership of the National Communities Council, his persistence in pursuing solutions to the challenges imposed by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and his many hours of dedication to MHI efforts. According to an MHI news release, “His business is known for delivering high value to residents. Murex Properties, with operations in four states, focuses on serving the 55 and older market with an emphasis on unparalleled customer service, doing the right thing, and continuously striving to improve.”

Additionally, at the recent Florida Manufactured Housing Association annual convention in Orlando, Adler was honored with the highest accolade that the FMHA can bestow on a member – The Williams – Olsen Award. This award was established in 1975 and it is given to a member who has devoted an exceptional amount of time and energy to FMHA and the industry. Adler serves on the FMHA board of directors and executive committee and is FMHA’s membership chairperson. According to FMHA President Cindy King, “Jim (Ayotte, FMHA executive director) and I appreciate his perspective and great mind on many of the industry issues that are tackled daily. Under an agreement with Northwestern Mutual, Murex identifies attractive investment properties in which Northwestern Mutual Real Estate invests while Murex assumes responsibility for the property management.  The 55-plus, gated community is situated along the southern edge of U.S. 60, east of S. Goldfield Road.

The 55-plus, gated community is located on Jones Loop Road. The 84-acre community was originally developed by David Anthony in 1998. Ventura Lakes is the third community Murex has purchased in conjunction with Northwestern Mutual. Northwestern Mutual, as a part of its diversified investing on behalf of its policy owners, is one of the nation’s largest real estate investors, with investments in commercial mortgages, equities and securitized investments across all major property types. (Arlington, VA – April 30, 2014) Members of the manufactured and modular housing industries gathered today at an awards luncheon to recognize individuals and companies for outstanding achievements. The National Industry Awards, presented during the 2014 National Congress and Expo for Manufactured and Modular Housing, recognized the highest achievers from all sectors of the manufactured and modular housing industries.

“These award winners are leading the way in providing outstanding products, value, customer service, creative solutions and state of the art homes that today’s homebuyers desire. They are being recognized today for their leadership, vision and dedication in enhancing and moving the manufactured and modular housing industries forward,” said MHI President & CEO Richard Jennison.

The winners of the “Land-Lease Community of the Year” and “Retail Sales Center of the Year” categories submit entries that are judged by an independent panel of professionals made up of representatives from academia, planning, community development, realtor, homebuilding and marketing professions. Awards are given in four regional areas of the country.

The “Land-Lease Community of the Year” entries were judged based on a written statement supplied by the entrant, community aesthetics, marketing materials, site plan of the community,
community and industry involvement, and the lease and covenants. The independent
panel of judges selected the following communities to receive awards:
